In May of 2021 the Bellaire City Library will celebrate 70 years of service to Bellaire residents.
In January of 1951 a committee was named from the Bellaire Women’s Civic Club for the formation of a Bellaire Library. The Friends of the Bellaire Library formally presented the Library to the City of Bellaire in May of 1951.
Untold thousands of visitors have had free access to quality information and hours of escape and entertainment over the past 70 years. The Library began in one room with donated books, and now offers have best sellers, audio books, CDs, DVDs, and computers.
The Library is a gem in the heart of Bellaire, offering everything from summer reading programs for children to free wi-fi and quiet areas for study and resarch. Our sincere hope is that Bellaire residents can soon gather safely together to show their appreciation for this wonderful institution.
