On January 31, 2024, Bellaire City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission met in a joint session for a presentation by Gary Mitchell, president of Kendig and Keast, to discuss a draft Comprehensive Plan. Find video and the agenda of the meeting here. The City received 1169 responses to an earlier online survey, leading to a 33-page report.
Suggestions include taking a close look at the “Actions for Land Use and Community Character” and “Future Land Use and Future Land Use Map”. Another area to follow is the “Zoning Parameters to Implement Comprehensive Plan Direction”. One Council member promoted condos. Watch the meeting, it’s somewhat confusing but this is really important for the future appearance of Bellaire. Review the document above, please. Then let the City know what you think when you attend the Comprehensive Plan Open House on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 6:00 PM at City Hall.
