No News Seems To Be Good News, So Best Of Luck, Folks

For a number of years I’ve provided articles on this website, trying to keep Bellaire residents informed about the activities of Bellaire mayors and members of City Council and City management. It takes time to develop and maintain a website, gather research, track down documents, follow various Council, Commission, and Board meetings. Early on it mattered and the knowledge transmitted via these articles encouraged groups of Bellaire residents to form alliances to support or oppose City proposals.

But now, for whatever reason, there seem to be fewer and fewer folks interested in those activities. What’s the current level of the City’s debt? Where does the money go? Will it cost me more? Will it affect my neighborhood? Will it affect my property values or raise my taxes? What happened to garbage bag deliveries? The answers for many seem to be “who knows” and “who cares”?

Most of the recent decisions at City Hall will have little to no impact on my life. We live in a small older home, small lawn area, no pool, no expensive watering system. Exemptions provide low property taxes. Life is good. And rather than continue to report on those goings-on at City Hall and the City of Bellaire I’m moving on to other interests. So long for now, take care, and best of luck.

P.S. There are over 7 years of articles on this website, a seach option, and links to Bellaire history. You may find some of the information interesting!

Feel free to comment and share your thoughts on activities in Bellaire. Here’s my recent comment to City Council regarding the city’s debt.
